I am working on a story called In Our Father’s Footsteps. “What If”
Everyone has there own stories that include the words “What If.” For most of us the consequences aren’t a matter of life and death. In the case of our fathers who landed on the beaches of Normandy on June 6th 1944 those “What If” moments could have been a matter of life and death. Using personal letters, diaries and historical information I want to tell the stories about our fathers and grandfathers who survived.
I am looking for stories about those men who risked their lives that day. What did they do before the war? What about after. Did they go on to great things, or were they just good men who raised a good family. What about the men who died? What might they or their children have contributed to the world if they had lived through those longest of days.
There are thousands of stories written by historians and the men who fought the war. I want to tell not only their story about the war but about the men themselves.
I would love to hear about who they were and what their stories are. I have set up a separate email address to contact me so we can talk about their story. firstname.lastname@example.org
